An art portfolio is a studio instruction class designed to improve the student’s technical skills and artistic knowledge. The course will focus on the basics of drawing such as comparative sight training and incorporates the study of perspective, shading, composition and colour theory. Students will learn to render using a variety of media while developing their own personal style. Different approaches to art will be incorporated including representational and expressive art.

All students are welcome, whether a beginner pursuing art as a form of recreation, or as an outlet for self-expression, or for those looking to improve their body of work for art school submission.

Let’s do clay at home! In this course, we will supply all the materials and most of the tools to do clay sculpture at home. You will also get recorded video instructions so your kids (and family) can do clay sculpture at home on your own. You will need to pick up the supply at the door of the studio and bring back the tools and artwork to studio for firing. You can also connect with us if you have questiton.

This six-week portraiture classes will provide a clear and easy methodology to follow for those interested in painting portraits. The class will include demonstrations and instruction in the following key areas: shapes, values, edges and color temperature. This class is open to all levels.
Students are welcome to work from their own reference photos once their first portrait is completed. Photos should be a single light source, ¾ lighting or lit from above. Do not use flash in taking the photography for the portraiture.

Sumi-E is a traditional Japanese ink Painting technique, which is based on using an oriental brush and ink or subtle watercolours on rice paper. This painting class is open to students of all levels, from beginner to advanced.

Materials for this course are brushes, sumi (ink stick), suzuri (stone for ink), shallow plates for mixing ink, matt and rice paper, and are available for purchase from instructor.

In this interactive online workshops, students will explore how colour works in relation to its neighbors on the colour wheel. We will paint our way through true primary, secondary and tertiary colours along with homogeneous, analogous and complimentary colours. Along the way we will gain some language about colour from hue, warm, cool, tint, tone, shade, intensity, simultaneous contrast, luminosity and what each colours value is on the grey scale. We will also look at Colour Theorists, Itten, Munsell, and Goethe. This is a hands on workshop where you should use the paint you already have to create useful colour wheels and value scales that help you further understand what your chosen palette can do.

The wire art is made of different kinds of metal wire such as iron wire, aluminium wire, and copper wire. Wire art is widely used in jewellery making together with beads or stones and it is one of the traditional art forms that go back thousands of years ago. In this classes, you will learn the skills to work with the wires, have an understanding of the difference in each wire types and gauges to have the best results in your design, and also basic technique to create your own jewellery and wire sculptures.
