The Advanced Pistol Handling course is designed to expand the circumstances and conditions under which a student can apply the skills developed in the Intuitive Defensive® Shooting Course.

Prerequisites are one or more of the following: Combat Focus Shooting 1 or 2 day course, Intuitive Defensive Shooting 1 or 2 day course, or a Get Trained Be Ready Church Safety Team training event.

This 1 Day IDS course begins where the Fundamentals 1 day course ends. This is essentially the 2nd day of the 2 day Intuitive Defensive Shooting course. We will review the Fundamentals briefly and and turn to the additional skills and drills normally associated with the 2nd day of a 2 day event.

If you have been through our Church Safety Team Range Training, or a 1 day Combat Focus Shooting or Intuitive Defensive Shooting course, this is a great next step.

This course block is an NRA Instructor Development Event to get you certified as an NRA Pistol Instructor, NRA Range Safety officer, and prepare you to become a Concealed Carry Instructor in your state. It includes all the prerequisites to become an NRA Certified Pistol Instructor and an NRA Range Safety Officer.

This course block is an NRA Instructor Development Event to get you certified as an NRA Metallic Cartridge Instructor. This course block covers both the student and instructor courses required. Let us know if you have not had the NRA Basic Instructor Training (BIT) in the last couple years.

The course will cover reloading safety, case preparation, primer selection, powder, bullets, reloading equipment; and the use of manuals, ballistic tables, component assembly and supervised reloading of rifle and pistol cartridges. Course graduates will receive an NRA Course Certificate upon successful completion of the NRA test.

Instructor Candidates must complete the NRA Basic Metallic Cartridge Reloading course student examination with a score of 90% or better and perform pre-course assessments that demonstrate basic knowledge, skills and safe handling procedures for reloading metallic cartridges. The required Basic Metallic Cartridge Reloading class will be held the previous day (8/2/19). BIT on Friday evening if needed.

The Fundamentals of IDS is a one day course that will expose the student to all the core principles and fundamentals of the Intuitive Focus® Shooting Program. This course will cover the basics of intuitive defensive shooting, Combat Accuracy, The Balance of Speed & Precision, an introduction to the understanding the Body’s Natural Reactions during a Dynamic Critical Incident, understanding the integration of lateral motion and additional concepts as time allows.
