Ever aspire to be a character from your favorite comic book or sci-fi series? Maybe being the real deal isn’t possible, but at the theatre- anything can happen! Make those cosplay aspirations come to life by registering for Aloha Theatre’s newest series: Cosplay 101!

In this hands-on series, attendees will practice the same details required of professional cosplayers to transform into a character from scratch. Each week will feature insider tips and tricks on conquering the many elements of cosplay including creating the dream character, designing sketches and patterns, introductory sewing, armor crafting, wig and hair care, special effects make up, character development, prop and weaponry building, insider tips and tricks, painting, and more! At the end of the series, celebrate and show off your transformation with a cosplay runway show, followed by a professional photo shoot to commemorate your one of a kind cosplay.

Ages 16+. Class meets Wednesdays 6:30pm-8:30pm. Registered attendees are asked to please bring a water bottle, and wear closed-toed shoes. Basic cosplay materials will be provided. It is under the Instructor’s discretion to request specific character-based items.

About the Instructor
For as long as she can remember, Raisa Klyne has always been a fan girl. When she was 7 she saved up all of her chore money to buy her very first piece of anime merchandise: a wall scroll of Sesshomaru-sama from her favorite anime at the time, Inuyasha. From there, her love of anime, manga, comics and movies kept growing and did not stop! She first got into cosplaying while she was in high school where she joined Anime Club as the Vice President. She dove headfirst into the cosplaying world and Cosplayed every Wednesday for her entire high school career. This ignited a whole new passion for Raisa that mashed all of her different crafting hobbies - sewing, painting, makeup design, and photography - together, one cosplay project at a time. She is eager to teach a new generation of fans about the wonderful world of Cosplay!
