Internal Safety Auditing

This course is designed for people who need to be trained to carry out health and safety audits within their own company to a standard which meets the requirements of BS OHSAS18001.

The course is either run as a general training session for people from different companies, or it can be designed as an in-house course, tailored to the specific needs of the client. A course book and certificate of attendance is provided.

The course is delivered via a combination of methods including interactive demonstrations and practical exercises.

The items marked * are supported by practical exercises. These can either be carried out in the training room using specially prepared teaching material, or for in-house courses audits of the client’s own operations can be arranged.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course delegates will:

  • Be familiar with the requirements of BS OHSAS18001:2007
  • Understand the specific requirements of Clause 4.5.5 for internal audits
  • Be able to plan and carry out internal Health and Safety audits
  • Be able to write suitable and sufficient audit reports detailing their findings and identifying recommendations
  • Understand the importance of following up the audit findings in a timely manner
