BUILD 2019 (WA)
Men love to build. The question is how do you build a life that will be truly worth while and stand the test of time.. What does a life built for God actually look like and how do Aussie blokes go about doing that?
Most of us have a fairly clear idea about what a spiritual man looks like in a church environment or ministry context, but what does a spiritual man look like when he’s working on a production line, or in a call centre? Is there a valid difference between the categories of secular and spiritual? How do you build your life as a man of God when most of your energy and time are consumed by the hours between your daily commute?
Join Stephen McQuoid and Larry Travis as they unpack the place of a godly man in the varied spheres of life, as well as the impact that a God-shaped character can have on the world around us.
Sacred Vs Spiritual
A man of God on the factory floor - seeing the spiritual in my working life
A man of God at home - being a spiritual servant leader at home
A man of God on his day off - seeing the spiritual in my leisure time
Joseph and Jesus - God’s work in Joseph’s life
Joe and Jesus - How do average Joes live for Jesus
Stephen McQuoid grew up in Ethiopia where his parents were missionaries. He then lived in Ireland, where he qualified as a nurse before going on to study theology and enter full-time Christian ministry. He holds Masters and Doctoral degrees and has written more than a dozen books. Stephen is General Director of Gospel Literature Outreach, a missionary organisation based in Motherwell, Scotland. He is married to Debbie, and they, along with their three children, fellowship at Liberty Community Church, Belshill, where they are both on the Leadership Team.
Larry is a former atheist who surprised himself by becoming a Christian nearly 20 years ago. About the same time, he moved from his home country of America here to Australia. He has lived in Perth since then with his wife Deborah and their children. Larry is a graduate of Trinity Theological College whose main area of service has been pastoral and preaching ministry in the local church. Currently he serves as a full-time assistant to the elders of Bedford Community Church, one of our WA Assemblies.
