CE Elective: Off the Rails...Successfully Managing New Home Transactions

Buying a new home is completely different than buying a resale home, but there is very little training available for agents to guide their clients through a new home purchase effectively. Unfortunately, many clients are exhausted and frustrated by the flurry of unexpected issues that pop up during the process. The objective of this course is to teach real estate professionals how to effectively represent their clients in new construction transactions by anticipating the most common issues that derail the experience. We will explore common new-home situations that can derail a transaction. We will discuss how to anticipate these dangerous situations and how to resolve them in the best interests of the clients. We will review several case studies to stimulate discussion and we will ask our classmates for other tips they have to prevent new construction transactions from going “off the rails.”

Please note the following important guidelines:

Licensees must complete eight (8) hours per year of continuing education (CE) in order to renew your license on active status. Four (4) of the required CE credit hours must be obtained by completing the Mandatory Update course. The Mandatory Update (GENUP) course or the BIC Annual Review (BICAR, BIC status only) must be taken in a classroom and is not available online.

The remaining four (4) CE credit hours may be obtained by taking an elective course in the classroom or online. Please see our schedule at www.goschool.biz for a complete list of online and in-person elective courses (NCREC approved) that will fulfill this remaining 4 hour CE requirement.

Students may roll over a maximum of 4 elective credit hours to the following year.

Licensees must attend at least 90% of a CE course and comply with student participating standards in order to receive credit for the course.

Upon completing the class, you will receive a Certificate of Completion for your records. Go School will report the course completion to the NCREC within 7 days. You do not need to take any action to report the completion to the NCREC.
