This class will introduce the student to the ancient Korean technique of keum boo, the fusing of 24k gold onto silver. In addition to learning the keum boo process, students will make their own burnisher from a triangular file.

Students will be shown multiple techniques to texture sterling silver to increase visual interest in the final piece. Following that, the technique of depletion guilding, the raising of a fine silver surface from a piece of sterling silver will be shown. Finally the application of gold sheet onto the sterling silver will be taught.

There is a $50 Materials Fee payable to the instructoir at the beginning of class.
