Dr. Bowers will discuss different ways of teaching narrative in a literature classroom using digital media, including projects using Twitter, Twine, StoryMapJS, and other programs. The presentation will include practical advice about implementing and assessing these projects, demonstrations, and some opportunities for hands on learning.
Dr. Katherine Bowers is an Assistant Professor of Slavic Studies at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. Her area of specialization is nineteenth-century Russian literature and her research interests include genre, narrative, imagined geography, and digital humanities.
