Virtual ComedySportz Summer Camp 2020

Whether you’re the manager of your school’s ComedySportz team or you’ve never done improv before, ComedySportz Summer Camp is a great idea! And this year will be unique–camp will be coincide with the ComedySportz World Championship!

What we all could use now is a laugh!

That pesky virus has made it impossible for us to be physically together for camp this year, BUT we won’t let that stop us! We’re having Virtual Camp, which will be every bit as fun.

This isn’t your ordinary camp.

You’re going to laugh a lot. Not a little a lot.

You’ll walk away with skills that will benefit you your entire life: trust, confidence, creative problem-solving, teamwork, focus, and the ability to turn challenges into gold. Simply, improv skills are essential for any actor, but also for anyone who wants to succeed.

And here’s what’s SUPER COOL about this year. Our camp coincides with the ComedySportz World Championship! You’ll get to see the entire championship, with teams from 30 cities across the United States and England. There are even special matches for LGBTQ+ and POC. Plus, workshops will be taught by amazing improv professionals from ComedySportz teams across the United States. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

This is a high school camp, for students who have at least completed their freshman year by June 2020. Graduating seniors are also welcome at camp.

Tuesday, July 28 – Saturday, August 1, online

What to Expect

Our days will be filled with workshops and activities. All workshops are taught by professionals from ComedySportz Los Angeles, the longest-running show in the city (over 30 years) and the presenters of the largest teen improv program in the United States, The High School League [®]. Evenings are filled with professional improv matches from the ComedySportz World Championship!

How does it work?

Our camp will be held on Zoom. We’ve become masters of virtual improv, having performed shows and taught workshops online ever since shelter-in-place rules started. This will also enable us to bring in really cool guests, from all over the U.S., so tell your friends!

There is a $25 discount for registering 4 or more people from the same school! We encourage entire teams of improvisers to come together. You don’t need to be on an improv team (or even know anything about improv!) but if you’ve one, bring ‘em along!

Out-of-Town or Out-of-State Attendees

We have had many students participate from all across the country (including Alaska). Virtual camp makes it even simpler!
