Reg Morrow Robinson & Bill Brislin are offering this 2-hour Zoom-based training free of charge to Greater Orlando Trauma Recovery Network Volunteers so that they may better serve community members affected by the Covid Pandemic.

All of us on the Connect Team are proud to partner with and volunteer for the TRN!

The Self Care Protocol for Coronavirus (SCP-C) developed by Dr. Gary Quinn, can be very useful for individuals who are struggling with fear, anxiety, panic, guilt, inadequacy, and regret, among other intense emotions. The goal of the SCP-C is to stabilize, not to open up past traumas and memory networks.

This procedure can be used as a one-time intervention with individuals who are having difficulty coping with the emotions and real-life stressors related to the coronavirus. It’s important to note that this approach differs from the standard EMDR approach because in this instance, these beliefs are not irrational.
This procedure can be used once by a therapist, or first responder, and then becomes a self-care procedure to be used as needed. It will take about 15-20 minutes to deliver. The SCP-C for Coronavirus can be used when a client presents with the following concerns:

“I AM AFRAID I MIGHT GET THE VIRUS”
“I AM AFRAID I HAVE THE CORONAVIRUS” “IT IS MY FAULT THAT I INFECTED OTHERS”
“I WILL HAVE NO MONEY” “I AM ALONE OR ISOLATED”
