Weird & Wacky Clay Fish Bowl-Online

Create the fish of your dreams to hold jelly beans, jewelry, or whatever you would like! Students will learn the basic clay techniques of rolling a coil and making a pinch structure while sculpting this fantastical creature. Clay kit is included. For ages 6 and up. Parents welcome. This is a great family project.

Materials you will need to have on hand for class:
*Clay Kit from Middlebury Studio School, which includes 3 lbs. of red clay, and white slip. (Please register several days ahead so we can make arrangements for you to pick up this clay kit. Bring finished pieces back for firing)
Paintbrush
Pencil
Fork & Spoon
Paper Plate or old cloth to work on.
Water
*If you are too far away from the Studio School pick up a Clay Kit, it’s fine to work with Sculpy, Model Magic or your own homemade salt dough. These materials do not have to be fired in a kiln and can be painted with acrylic paint or watercolors. Here is a good salt dough recipe.

SALT DOUGH

2 cups flour
1 cup salt
About a cup of water (enough to make a stiff dough)
