Watercolor Made Easy - October 12 - Painting glass

Paint from the comfort and safety of your own home during the times that work for your schedule. You don’t need to be present in Sun City West nor in the state. Heck, still in Canada? No problem. With this method, you will need to register for all classes in the month but can start at any time and watch at your leisure during the month, pause and rewatch all the videos again. After you have registered and paid, you will get access to a private Facebook group set up for that month’s lessons. (A link will be sent to you.). Each week I will do a lesson including a demo for the subject of the month plus the previous week’s demo will be kept up all month and into the first week of the following month. The photograph I’ll be working from will be posted for you to use or you can paint a similar subject using the techniques you are learning. The subject matter will change from month to month. Yes, you can do this even if you’ve never picked up a paintbrush before. I will guide you through each step. In the process you will learn everything you need to know to become a good artist.

If you have questions about your painting or want a critique, send me a message and photograph via Messenger or to my email watercolorsue@gmail.com.

I recommend the colors in red. The BOLD are my convenience colors. The rest are my extended palette and NOT NECESSARY.

Paper - Arches, Fabriano or Saunders Waterford 140# Cold Press A full sheet (22x30) can be divided into two half sheets (15x22) or four quarter sheets (11x15) Stonehenge Aquapress paper is great except it tears when you try and lift paint. Cannot put tape on this either.

Brushes - My favorite watercolor brushes are Silver Black Velvet 3000S in 4, 8, 12 (rounds) or Steve Quiller’s Richeson Professional 7000 (same sizes plus 2/0 for detail) another brand of detail brush is Raphael Kaerell size 0 (or any other small round for details in eyes) A good place to order from is online from TheBrushGuys.com or from Amazon.

Palette - I use Holbein’s 30 well travel palette . In my studio I use a 55 well Mijello Studio Watercolor Palette. This is totally not necessary. I just like to experiment with lots of different colors. I also like John Pike Palette and Steven Quiller’s Large W/C palette .

Spray Mist Bottle, paper towel, support board and tape or clips to hold paper a little larger than your paper, two water containers, #2 pencil kneaded eraserser, two water containers,
