Post 301: Broker Relationships & Responsibilities (Online T/Th schedule)

NOTE: This course will be facilitated online during the scheduled dates/times using the Zoom virtual classroom platform. Each participant must have access to a computer, webcam, microphone and reliable broadband internet connection in order to successfully complete this course. A link to the virtual classroom and student materials will be emailed to each enrolled student the day before the class begins.

The textbook is not included in the tuition fee. To order a textbook, titled NC Real Estate Manual (2017-2018 edition), go to www.ncrec.gov and click the Publications tab. An e-version as well as a paperback version is available. You may also make arrangements to pre-order a copy with your enrollment form and arrange for pick up at our Raleigh or Cary campus.

This course meets only Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9:00 - 2:30, beginning Dec. 1 and concluding Dec. 17.

Attendance Rule: Participants must be visible on camera during at least 90% of the 30-hour course schedule. Anyone missing more than 3 hours will need to register and attend the course again.

The Post 301 - Broker Relationships and Responsibilities course is one of the three 30-classroom hour courses in the North Carolina mandatory Post-licensing education program. At least one course must be completed annually by North Carolina provisional brokers within three (3) years after initial licensure to remain eligible for active license status. The primary objective of the course is to provide instruction at a level beyond that provided in Pre-licensing courses on topics deemed to be of special importance. Topics addressed in this course include:

  • A review of agency relationships in real estate residential and commercial sales and
    commercial property management transactions
  • A real estate broker’s legal duties to clients and customers
  • A step-by-step review and discussion of the functions and responsibilities of a real estate broker when working with sellers and buyers
  • A review of issues associated with transactions in progress when a broker leaves a firm, and
  • A review of license status and education issues.

Please note, strict attendance rules apply. Students may not miss more than 3 instructional hours in order to receive completion credit for this course.

Cancellations up to 48-hours prior to the course start date will be refunded minus a $75 cancellation fee. Enrollment transfer requests are granted prior to the start of the second course session.
