Post 302: Contracts & Closing (online T/W/Th schedule)

This course will be facilitated live online during the scheduled dates/times using the Zoom platform. Each participant must have access to a computer, webcam, microphone and reliable broadband internet connection in order to successfully complete this course. A link to the virtual classroom and student materials will be emailed to each enrolled student the day before the class begins.

The textbook is not included in the tuition fee. You may add the textbook, titled NC Real Estate Manual, to your enrollment form and pick it up in person at either our Raleigh or Cary location, or, for a copy to be shipped to you order it separately from the NCREC website, www.ncrec.gov (Publications tab). An e-book version is also available online through the NCREC.

This course meets online each Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, 9:00 - 2:30 for a total of six online class sessions.

The Post 302 - Contracts and Closing course is one of the three 30-instructional hour courses in the North Carolina mandatory Post-licensing education program. At least one course must be completed annually by North Carolina provisional brokers within three (3) years after initial licensure to remain eligible for active license status. The primary objective of the course is to provide instruction at a level beyond that provided in Pre-licensing courses on topics deemed to be of special importance. Topics addressed in this course include:

  • selected basic contract law concepts,
  • real estate sales contract preparation,
  • sales contract procedures,
  • buyer’s due diligence,
  • closing procedures,
  • Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act,
  • closing disclosure preparation,
  • contracts for deed, options, and
  • selected real estate license status and education issues.

Please note, per NCREC attendance rules, students must attend at least 90% of all instructional hours scheduled. Missing more than 3 hours will disqualify the student from course completion credit. Students cancelling enrollment at least 48 hours prior to the start of the course will incur a $75 cancellation fee. There are no refunds after this deadline but credit may be applied towards a future class within 6 months of your original enrollment.
