Intermediate Skills - Ecological Stewardship: Calling all conservationists! Learn about ecology in the field while participating in conservation projects that benefit our local preserves and wild spaces. Identify California plants and wildlife while collecting and uploading data for science. We use naturalist tools like binoculars, field guides, hand lenses, compasses, and sketch books to help us with our observations. In addition to intentional nature study, we will create connection through games, skill building, and play. This class would be great for kids with some previous outdoor education or Ventura Wild experience who are curious and eager to do more field science and stewardship projects! Other activities may include gathering seeds & growing native plants, keeping a nature journal, tracking nocturnal wildlife with game cameras and even participating in an ocean wildlife count from a boat at sea! If this sounds like fun sign up for our 8 week Ecological Stewardship course!
