Today our society encourages us to depend on ourselves and to turn from anything that may limit our freedom. We are told that true freedom comes when we are free from all commitments and we can chart our own paths. God’s Word tells us we can have an abundant life when we move UP and fix our eyes on Jesus, when we move IN and are committed to God’s church and finally move OUT and take Community to those around us.

JOHN NORTH loves to preach and teach God’s word in a penetrating way that changes people’s lives. He is the National Director of Ambassadors for Christ International–Australia and the Director of EvangelismSHIFT International. He has been working with AFCI in Australia for 26 years, focused on accelerating the spread of the gospel through local churches. He developed the LifeWorks evangelism tool used by many churches around the world, wrote the GrowthWorks small group course, is on the radio each morning for the Time With God devotional spot, trains church leaders in Jesus’ process for building a spiritual movement, and leads the international growth of EvangelismSHIFT.
JOHNO HUGHES leads a spectacular quadruple life. By day he is a high school Science teacher. By night he is the husband of Mere and the father of two amazing teenage daughters. On weekends he is an elder, speaker and musician at Kings Park Community Church, and in the gaps around that he is completing his Masters in Divinity at ACCS (with the eventual aim of doing his doctorate). He loves the Gospels, and considers Luke to be one of the finest historians of the ancient world.
