Summer Music Activities for Ages 6-8 (following music camp themes: 2 hours/week from July 5 - Aug 11)

A sampling of our summer music camp for children ages 6-8. Schedule will be Monday & Wednesday 2:30-3:30 for 6 weeks. YOU ONLY HAVE TO REGISTER ONCE FOR THIS PROGRAM (AGE 6-8 ONLY)

WEEKLY THEMES

JULY 5 - HOW MUSIC MAKES US FEEL AND MOVE: An exploration of how music can affect our emotions and influence styles of dance. Explore how music is used in musicals, TV shows, and advertising to portray a message or feeling.

JULY 12 - MUSIC THROUGH THE DECADES: Explore various genres of music throughout the decades, including popular musicians who influenced the music of their time. Understand the different types of music and how they evolve and affect cultures.

JULY 19 - ON BROADWAY: Explore the most exciting Broadway musicals and the aspects of performing on stage for a live audience.

JULY 26 – A CAMPING WE WILL GO: Enjoy a fun week around the campfire and explore how music can have an influence in any setting. We will also be exploring folk music.

AUG 2 - SCHOOL OF ROCK: Learn all about the rock genre of music! Components of a live rock band, musicals and popular bands that proudly promote “rock”!

AUG 9 - DISNEY: Explore some of the coolest Disney songs, musicals, characters, and costumes!
