Nurture Practitioner Intervention Programme (Sylvia Lucas)
Nurture In Schools Australia (NISA) in partnership with Nurture International will facilitate the Nurture Practitioner Intervention Programme (Sylvia Lucas). Utilising international best practice and the latest in neuroscience to enhance students' social, emotional and cognitive needs. This whole school initiative will provide the opportunity to enhance staff capacity and improve the quality of teaching and learning.
This training will be conducted over a 6 month period with five 3 hour online training modules, one of which is a six month review. The option to complete an assessment between 6 to 12 months will provide training credits towards post-graduate study.
Participants will be provided with the opportunity to:
- Understand how social, emotional, and cognitive skills develop and how experiences can interrupt or enhance development.
- Develop skills of how the online, early intervention survey tool, the Developmental Portrait, can support teachers to remove barriers to learning.
- Be able to analyse the data from the Developmental Portrait to inform planning of effective interventions to meet the targeted needs of:
- Whole Class
- Individual children and young people
Participants will be provided with the opportunity to feel confident to run full time and part time Nurture interventions with practical and theoretical skills, knowledge, understanding along with a set of resources.
Participants will be supported to plan their intervention for immediate affect and be able to use the practical resources provided during the programme.
