This course is taught as part of our Able Seaman course, or as a stand alone course. The course is for students who need to qualify for the rating of Able Seaman, and work on vessels without lifeboats (Life rafts are the main means of abandoning ship). Examples of where lifeboat limited assessments would qualify you as an Able Seaman include, Tugboats, Offshore Supply Vessels, Workboats, Yachts, etc.

If the student works on ships, then that student will need Proficiency In Survival Craft Class.
