30-Hour Recovery Coach Training - Evening and Weekend Schedule via ZOOM

WHAT IS A RECOVERY COACH?

A Recovery Coach is a person who works to remove barriers and obstacles to recovery by serving as a personal guide. Recovery Coaches enter into an ongoing mentoring relationship that helps folks who are in recovery or who are considering recovery from substance use disorders to produce extraordinary results in their personal lives, careers, businesses, or organizations. Recovery Coaching is about tapping into an individual's desires and motivations and allowing them to see the recovery possibilities for themselves while helping them to develop a plan of action. Coaching those in recovery is also about focusing on strengths, abilities, and positive outcomes that catapult people up and out of negative cycles. Most recovery coach training programs are based upon the foundational work in peer recovery services by agencies such as the Connecticut Center for Addiction Recovery (CCAR) and the McShin Foundation. Recognized as one of the leading recovery coach training curriculums of its kind, this training workshop is an innovative approach to healing people's lives that is unlike any other training. It offers participants the once-in-a-lifetime experience to gain new knowledge, be challenged, and reap valuable rewards, providing the essential learning, tools, and resources needed to become an effective recovery coach.

This Recovery Coach Training Workshop meets the mandatory 30-Hour Recovery Coach role training prerequisite for the Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) and Certified Addiction Recovery Coach (CARC) certifications issued by the New York Certification Board (NYCB). This workshop offers an innovative approach to helping people heal from the devastating effects of addiction, whether they are currently seeking recovery, in early recovery, or looking to deepen and sustain their recovery. If you are considering a career as a recovery coach or peer advocate, or you simply want to learn more effective methods for supporting people through their recovery process, this workshop will enlighten and inspire you. Peer recovery coaches can play a vital role in the addiction treatment and aftercare continuum of care.... and many more coaches are needed to support the growing gap in community-based recovery resources. “People don't recover in treatment (though this is often where recovery is initiated); they recover in their communities." Become a recovery warrior and help end the stigma of addiction and shine the light on recovery! People DO recover! Be part of the solution!”

During this training workshop you will learn more about the exciting career opportunities and application requirements for the CRPA (Certified Recovery Peer Advocate) and CARC (Certified Addiction Recovery Coach), two of the NYCB Certifications. New York State Medicaid now reimburses treatment and recovery agencies for many Peer Recovery Services performed by CRPAs. Join with others in this training to learn more about the practice & role of professional Recovery Coaches and learn why peer support is valued and effective in supporting a person's sustainable recovery. This field is growing and evolving rapidly!

WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS TRAINING? Anyone working or volunteering in the recovery field. The recovery coach works within a long tradition of wounded healers—individuals who have suffered and survived an illness or experience who use their own vulnerability and the lessons drawn from that process to help others seeking to heal from this same condition.

During this training, you'll learn how to clearly describe both the benefits and challenges of recovery. Recovery Coaches do not have all of the answers, but they do know how to listen, paraphrase, acknowledge what has been said, and share their own experiences-- in a way that is helpful to those with whom they work. If you're ready to Build on or Ignite a passion to engage and work with those who want to learn more about the journey of recovery, then this training is for you! We believe this training is a must for anyone in the recovery field.
