Western Yacht Club of Ireland

Welcome to the Royal Western Yacht Club of Ireland Training Centre.

We run sailing courses for juniors from 9 years old to 16 years old in July and August.

​Our courses are operated in the safe haven of Kilrush Marina. Our waters are non-tidal and a perfect place to start sailing. Occasionally there are on supervised sailing trips outside the marina, subject to weather conditions.

Sailing lessons are run on the Optimist Dinghy for children from 9 to 12 years and on the ​Topaz, RS Feva and Wayfarer dinghies for more competent or older sailors.

Our instructors are fully qualified by Irish Sailing through the Small Boat Sailing Scheme.

All courses are run in line with Irish Sailing and Sporting Ireland guidelines.
