When someone is diagnosed with diabetes, a big question is often "What can I eat?" Another question may be, "How will this affect my health?" That person may assume the answers to such questions are bad.
Well, that is where a diabetes educator comes in. This class is led by a certified diabetes care and education specialist to help people with diabetes learn to make food choices, follow a medicine regimen, work with doctors, and everything else to live well and prevent problems and complications.
And, speaking of prevention, diabetes can be prevented, or at least delayed. This class will also cover key concepts from landmark studies on preventing diabetes.
Is all of this easy? No, but it should also not be hard. And, to paraphrase the old shampoo commercials, "You're worth it!."
