Teaching and Scholarship Hub

Led by the Office of Federal, Corporate, and Government Relations and the Faculty Hub, the Grant Writers’ Institute is a hands-on semester-long opportunity for faculty members. Participants will learn about how to find grants available to them, how to navigate internal processes at UR, how to budget for their grant, and how to write an effective proposal. Most importantly, participants will leave the institute with a completed grant proposal in hand!

The Institute is open to all full-time faculty members and instructional staff, including those in disciplines where grant-writing is less common.

In addition to the events below, each participant will be paired with a UR colleague mentor who has received the same or similar grant to the one sought by the participant. These pairs will meet on their own twice throughout the time of the institute.

o   Between Oct. 6 and Nov. 10: One-on-one meetings with Faculty Hub writing consultant or grants office staff

·      Understanding Internal Processes, Tuesday, Oct. 10, 3:00-4:00 pm [hybrid]

·      Creating a Budget, Thursday, Oct. 26, 2:00-3:15 [hybrid] 

·      Proposal Sharing and Workshopping (Grant Training Center), Friday, Nov. 10, 12:00-2:00pm [online] [Zoom link will be sent via email before the session]
