SEPTEMBER 2023 - SRPMIC Virtual Cultural Sensitivity On-line Training (English and Spanish available)
The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community (SRPMIC or Community) sponsors free online Cultural Sensitivity Training (CST) to development and construction personnel. The purpose of the CST is to provide “rules for the road” for construction and development in SRPMIC and is intended to preserve the Community’s rich cultural heritage. The training consists of an online video, followed by a short test, and is available in English and Spanish.
It’s important to note that the SRPMIC has extensive laws and ordinances that must be followed when conducting construction and development related activities within the boundaries of the Community. Developers, contractors and subcontractors must follow all regulations and laws related to the protection of the Community’s cultural and archaeological resources. The CST will provide critical information needed to ensure the protection, preservation, and respectful treatment of these resources.
