OIF Improv JAM
HOW DOES THE PRESERVE WORK, EXACTLY?
The Preserve is an improv jam/workshop—an informal, facilitated session that lets you work on your improv skills in a playful, non-competitive environment. In the first half of the jam, we’ll practice some of those improv skills through some fun exercises. During the second half of the jam, you’ll get the opportunity to showcase those skills through longform sets with occasional side-coaching from our facilitators.
Whether you’re a seasoned pro, feeling a little rusty, or completely new to improv, we’d love for you to join us! You’re welcome to participate as much as you’re comfortable with.
Bring comfortable indoor shoes.
BE GOOD
These jams take place in a welcoming, easygoing space—we’re here to have fun, support each other, and foster a sense of encouragement and community. All participants in the jam are expected to refrain from conduct, onstage or offstage, that is sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, or otherwise discriminatory. Toxic behaviour will be shut down.
STAY SAFE
We’re following the guidelines set out by Ottawa Public Health. Masks are recommended, and if you’re feeling sick, please stay home.
OTHER GOOD STAGE HABITS
Wear comfy clothes.
Put your gum away.
Respect people’s boundaries.
We want to make sure that everyone gets a chance to jam so we’ve enabled a waitlist on this event. To make room for others, please cancel your booking if you are no longer able to attend.
