Writing Through It: Intro Class!
So you want to write, but you’re not sure where to begin. This class is for you.
In this class for women, we engage in some close reading — usually a poem or essay — and use it as a jumping off point for our own personal writing. Write about a place you once traveled to, a cake someone baked for you, an object you brought home from a trip. We then read the work aloud, bear witness to what’s been shared, and offer kind, constructive feedback. This class is a small, intimate space for you to take risks with your writing and for us to read deeply together.
I see this class as both self-care and collective care, which is especially vital in these isolating times: the deep listening of others' work is just as vital as the attention you pay to your own. I believe that through our time together everyone's writing can become more of what it needs and wants to be, and that each writer can find her voice. I always create an environment of safe risk, and I’d be delighted to play (yes, play!) together.
No cancellations or refunds after Feb 18th.
