Targeted selection interviewing is a method used to evaluate candidates’ competencies based on their past behavior in order to hire the right people for a given job. This workshop trains hiring managers to collect job-relevant data about candidates in a legally defensible way using the STAR approach. You will be provided with tools and interview guides to prepare for and conduct interviews, gather and evaluate candidate data and make an effective selection process.

The workshop will provide skill practice to complete the following Learning Objectives:

  • Ability to conduct interviews that focus on job-related behaviors
  • Treat candidates equitably, fairly and comply with applicable laws and regulations
  • Increase accuracy of your selection decisions
  • Make positive impressions on candidates
  • Increase likelihood that a successful hire is made which will increase employment retention

Full Course: 4 hours (2 hours of self-paced online instruction + 2 hours of workshop skill practice)
