Put on a Show in a Week - 'MATILDA'

If you love to perform and thrive on the stage then this is the Summer School for you. Be a part of the cast of ‘Matilda: The Musical’ and rehearse the show within 5 days, ready to perform on the Friday to an audience. This is an exciting opportunity for young performers to be put through their paces as pre-professionals and learn what it takes to be a part of a team and a successful cast to pull off such an ambitious feat in just 5 days!

Our ‘Put on a Show in a Week’ offering at ACTAcademy Stage School is a fun-packed, inspirational and confidence-building experience for young people who love the magic of theatre and are keen to be a part of a musical after a year of theatres being closed! At the end of the week, students will perform an adaptation of ‘MATILDA’ for an audience on the stage in our very own in-house theatre.

Spaces are strictly limited so don’t delay in booking your place!

You will be learning script, routines, songs, harmonies, solos, and working as part of a team to present the classic musical, ‘MATILDA’ in the space of just 5 days. Roles will be cast on the Monday and we will be learning show material straight away, ready for performing on the Friday.

Audition material for main roles will be sent out via email the week before Summer School starts, giving your child time to prepare and practice. Auditions will take place within classes on the first day.

All our teachers are incredibly well qualified and experienced, having worked professionally in the performing industry and are all DBS checked. They will support your child and nurture their natural talent and encourage them to be the best performer they can be. Our ‘Put on a Show in a Week’ Summer School is a fabulous opportunity to develop your skills, widen your knowledge of the industry and meet like-minded friends.

The cast will be split into separate age groups to ensure scenes and show material are distributed accordingly.

We are an Ofsted registered educational establishment, and as such are subject to following the statutory requirements set by Ofsted and the Local Authority, PHE guidance and the DfE guidance for educational settings for making our school Covid-Secure. For your peace of mind, we have a fully trained paediatric first aider on site at all times, a dedicated housekeeper responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene, and will be operating our Summer Schools this year with small class sizes and staggered pick up and drop off times.

Our ACTAcademy ‘Put on a Show in a Week’ is recommended for children aged 7 to 11.
