Like the Irish whistle, the bodhran is the simplest of instruments, and yet it is capable of astonishingly rich and complex rhythms. The class will focus on the basics: 1) how to hold the drum and the tipper, and 2) the basic rhythms of Irish jigs, reels, and hornpipes. More complex subjects will be addressed based on student progress and interest.
