Making the Cut Outdoor Camp
Training your volleyball skills on the grass and sand. It has been well-known for a long time that if you train in the sand over the summer, you increase your speed and agility when you move indoors to a surface that does not move. The sand teaches athletes to pick up their feet and move. This camp will be done on the beach and grass courts for three hours a day for four days. Monday to Thursday, 1-4 pm. This camp will include a beach camp shirt in the price and age is the grade in the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. There will be three age groups, grades 4-6, 6-8, and 9-10.

If you have never done an outdoor camp, you do not want to miss this. The sand, sun, wind and all the other elements make the athletes more agile, stronger, and quicker and teach athletes to pick up their feet and move. Beach and grass training is a big thing in some countries with lots of sun and beaches, and this year we will do the same here in Saskatchewan.
We will train for two hours on skills and run a game similar to the Royalty of the Courts games.

Sign up early, as this camp typically sells out. The Camp will occur on the Beach and grass courts behind Father Robinson School.

Most athletes use beach and grass training to increase their ability to plan on the hard court. If you spend time working in the sand and grass court, you will learn to play on surfaces different from the hard court, making you faster and more balanced. The sun and the wind will teach you to ensure you get your body in the right place again, a skill transferable to the indoor game. The training of the basic skill in the age groups will be appropriate for the skill level of the players, The age groups are just a suggestion, and participants should pick the group that will best fit them.
There will only be 18 spots per age group.
