Intro to Gel Printmaking
Join us for a three session introductory workshop into the world of printmaking with gel plates and acrylic paint to create colorful multi-layered monoprints! In the first session, you will cut out stencils and masks to create multiple layers, and learn one "resist" technique to transfer your shapes and designs to the gel plate.
The second class will focus on the printmaking techniques and history of collage and Pochoir (stencils) through the Matisse experience, followed by a new mark making technique. In the last session, you will learn how to use watercolor and water soluble media for print transfers. Students will be able to experiment with Yupo paper, mineral paper and polystyrene. When dry, these prints will be embellished with pencils, pens and other media.
Creative and fun, this workshop is for seasoned 2D artists and beginners alike.
