Whether you are new to running or a seasoned athlete, this course is designed to help you improve your running mechanics, prevent injuries, and select the right shoes for your feet.

In the first part of the course, you will learn about the basic mechanics of running and how to establish good gait patterns. You will explore the different types of running form, such as heel striking, midfoot striking, and forefoot striking, and learn which style is best for your body type and running goals. You will also learn how to improve your running posture, stride length, and cadence to optimize your running efficiency.

Next, you will learn how to prevent and care for common running injuries. You will explore the most common injuries among runners, such as plantar fasciitis, shin splints, and IT band syndrome, and learn how to identify their symptoms and causes. You will also learn about stretching, foam rolling, and other forms of self-care that can help you prevent and manage running injuries.

In the third part of the course, you will learn about how to fit yourself for proper running shoes. You will explore the different types of shoes available, such as stability shoes, neutral shoes, and minimalist shoes, and learn how to select the right shoe for your foot type and running style. You will also learn about the importance of replacing your shoes regularly and how to determine when it's time to get a new pair.

Finally, you will learn about orthotic use for running. You will explore the different types of orthotics available, such as custom-made and over-the-counter orthotics, and learn how to select the right type of orthotic for your needs. You will also learn about the benefits of using orthotics for running, such as improved stability and reduced risk of injury.
