Join Marjolaine in a 4-day in-person Nuno felt immersion class. You will begin the

week by being introduced to the process of Nuno felt by making a playful scarf.

On days 2-4, you will have the option of making a sleeveless top or tunic, using a

resist. Her fascination for the limitless possibilities of making Nuno felt seamless

garments led her to playful creations. You will learn:

• Explore colors, texture, composition and design

• Create a very lightweight garment that will be the inspiration for future creations

• Learn to make your pattern/Resist

• Discover various wool layouts to create different effects

• Paint with silk hankies and silk roving on wool

SKILL LEVEL: This workshop is suited for beginner to intermediate and requires

standing most of the day.

Maximum of students: 8

• Silk fabric: One piece of 4 yards and one piece of 2 yards for a total of

5 yards of 45” habotai or chiffon (5-6 momme maximum).

• 16 oz merino top, 18-22 micron. I suggest no more than two colors.

• 4 oz silk scraps, silk fiber, silk hankies, bamboo or tencel fibers etc., for

embellishment.

• 48” x 72” tulle/netting/mosquito screen, permeable mesh to cover and wet fiber

during construction.

• Olive oil soap or 7th Generation dish soap

• 48” pool noodle of 1.5”

• Scissors

• 6 ties (old nylon stocking is perfect)

• A measuring tape and calculator (plus note book)

• 48” x 84” bubble wrap surface (small-soft bubble type sold for shipping)

• Additional 48” x 60” bubble wrap surface for making a resist for the top/tunic

• Pkg of .7 mil painters drop cloth style plastic

• 1 dish pan and large yogurt container, sponge or ballbrauser

• 2 large and 1 small towels

• Table risers - (available at the studio)

• Spray bottle (optional)

Marjolaine will have additional silk fabric and silk fibers available to purchase.
