Check - Mixed Media Altered Books

Classes are nonrefundable.

In this class each student will be recycling and creatively modifying an old book it—giving it new life. The books will become a one-of-a-kind creative work and can be themed to each artist’s desire. Students will use a variety of media and collage and work on filling their book with new ideas and imagery.

The beginning of the class will include instruction on the best techniques on preparing your book for modification and students will work on creating a unique cover. Each weekly class we will learn a variety of new techniques to experiment with.

Each student should consider what the end use of their book will be. Will it be an art journal, a coffee table book, a gift for a friend, a scrapbook? Think about this as you determine if you want it to have a particular theme.
