The general basics on printed documents

In this virtual course, the trainer will guide you through all the details, on how an image or text can appear on paper. Not every technique can use the same method to visualize an image or mix colors. The various methods that can be used, will be explained. This comes along with learning how to measure differences in these methods.

  1. COLOR METRICS
    The basics of color (RGB/CMYK/Lab), measure color, calculate Delta E, Colour in digital print.

  2. HALFTONING
    AM and FM techniques, frequency and percentage, measure frequency and percentage

  3. RESOLUTION
    Input-, Output-, Printresolution, how to calculate resolution, resolution of different printing techniques

  4. VECTOR & BITMAP
    Differences in Vector and bitmap, how to recognize printed vector or bitmap

This course comes with a halftoning wheel, a Lithometer and printed samples to practice yourself.

Mandatory for all courses is a microscope, capable of a 200x enlargement, you can use your own microscope, or you can order a microscope as additional equipment.
