Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art

This one-day hands on workshop with local potter Kay Feist will explore the method of slab building by creating test tiles and a vase. Various textures of carving, sgraffito, stamping, stenciling, slip trailing, inlay, and sprigs will be demonstrated for testing and making seamed slab forms.

Instructor: Kay Feist 

Lifelong Montanan, Kay Feist, was raised in Choteau and graduated from The University of Montana with her BA, studying under Rudio Autio. She received her MA from Montana State University studying with Frances Senska. She has taught various ceramic classes and workshops in highschool and college. Feist was the Arts and Crafts Director at Malmstrom Air Force Base, and has since been a studio potter.
