Defining Yourself as a Researcher: Strategies to Create and Manage a Research Agenda (offered in partnership with SEHD)
A significant hurdle faced by doctoral students and new faculty is the formulation of a clear research agenda. Establishing a research agenda involves a deep understanding of personal interests, comprehending existing literature within a chosen field, and recognizing the areas that lack comprehensive exploration. Moreover, researchers must explore avenues for funding their research while aligning it with their teaching and service objectives. This session aims to assist doctoral students and new faculty in identifying, defining, and implementing their research agenda by presenting a wealth of information and strategic approaches based on the National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity (NCFDD) writing model. The event will have interactive activities. Ultimately, participants will be equipped to eloquently present their research agenda and take concrete steps toward realizing their objectives.
