Summer Art Adventures - Through The Decades - Ages 9-13
Over the course of this one-week program, we'll embark on a time-traveling escapade through the decades, spanning the exhilarating Roaring 20s all the way to the trendy 2000s. Get ready to immerse yourself in the rich tapestry of each era as we draw inspiration from defining events and pop culture! Create art deco inspired owls, have fun at the disco, and let's not forget the innovative twist of repurposing old CDs and vinyl records and much more!
Summer Art Adventures are filled with fun and creative art projects. We only use the highest quality 2D and 3D mediums to give your child the best art experience. Our art instructors are graduates of the University of Michigan School of Art and Design and have studied abroad at SACI in Florence, Italy.
Our program runs from 9 am to 4 pm Monday-Friday. Please check your child in by 8:55 am. Pick up promptly at 4 pm.
Parking is located in the lot behind the studio and limited parking on Michigan Avenue at the front entrance to the studio.
Artists should bring a nut-free lunch, 2 snacks, and a refillable water bottle with a lid. First and last names should be on all personal belongings. Food may not be shared.
Artists should bring sunblock, sneakers, and sun hats for outside break time, weather permitting.
On the last day of the week parents are invited to the studio at 3 pm for an “art show.” This is a special time for artists to share their work with their parents, grandparents, siblings, etc., and an opportunity for you to speak to our instructors.
We welcome all aspiring artists of all ages and abilities. However, if your child requires additional assistance or needs individualized attention, please call the studio before you register. Thank you.

Bode had an excellent time at this camp. He was a bit skeptical when I first told him about it and very reluctant to go, but after the first day, he was excited to go back. I was surprised at how much artwork he accomplished and how well he did. He even made new friends, which is always a plus! Wish I would’ve found Whitepine Studios sooner to do more classes. Please keep up the good work!
It’s difficult to find art classes for older kids/young teens. This was a great choice! 12 year old daughter felt comfortable and learned a lot of new art techniques. We are now considering doing lessons here in the fall.
Thomas particularly enjoyed how you incorporated some music into the art projects.
Fantastic summer camp experience. We very much appreciate the warm and welcoming environment Joanne and her staff create for all the children.
