Small Stream Class

Small stream fly fishing is challenging, fun and rewarding. Many opportunities exist nearby.  Gary Applebee will be teaching the class. He has been fishing the local mountains for over twenty years.

This class will address fishing local small streams. Topics will include the best equipment, types of casts, flies, safety, and tactics for success. You will also learn where to go locally to fish small streams. Prior to the class you will receive a PDF manual for the class; bring it downloaded on a device (the clubhouse does not have WIFi) or a printed hardcopy. If you have never fly fished before you are welcome to come to this class and get started fishing locally. 

At the conclusion of the class we will plan an outing on a small stream for May 18th where we can practice these new skills. If you have been to a previous Small Stream Class you are welcome to come to the Outing. 

The class will be held at the Izaac Walton building (Deep Creek Fly Fishers Clubhouse). The cost of the class is $15 for DCFF members and $25 for non-members. Members of Stream Born and High Desert Fly Fishers can register at the member cost. The class is limited to fourteen people.
