Ashford in the Water near Bakewell - Public Walk
This walk is 9.5 miles, total ascent approximately 1000ft, starting in the attractive village of Ashford in the Water in the White Peak District, Derbyshire. We will be walking into Bakewell, some of the path is along the River Wye. Coffee / morning break will be in Bakewell ( bring a flask if you would like a hot drink).We then gradually climb up from Bakewell to Over Haddon ( south west direction) & then take the path just below Bole Hill to Sheldon .From here we descend back to the river & into Ashford in the Water for a tea room visit at the end the walk.
Meet by the bandstand in Ashford in the Water for a 10.15am start. Parking is available in the village car park ,£2 for the day where there are toilets. A lift from Buxton train station may be available if you are thinking of coming by public transport.
Please note that some of the paths could be muddy so good walking boots are recommended & poles will be useful.
