(NOTE THIS IS A REPEAT OF THE COURSE TAUGHT IN THE WINTER SEMESTER)-This course will be a brief overview of the events and personalities of the Holocaust, a period which saw the wholesale slaughter of six million Jews and several million other minorities during the days of the Third Reich. It will consider the origins and perpetuation of anti-Semitism, its establishment in Hitler’s Europe, and its impact on both perpetrators and victims. Antisemitism and genocide in the modern world have not been limited to the Nazis. So, we will also look at the issue of Holocaust denial in contemporary society and modern examples of genocide and war crimes. Instructor: Christopher Bryans from 2008 to 2021 served as Adjunct Professor of History at Eastern Florida State College (EFSC). He taught U.S. History, Western Civilization, and developed courses in African American History and Holocaust Studies at EFSC
