Paraprofessional Personnel Requirements Online Training (ParaEducator) - MDE Approved
Highly Qualified Paraprofessional Online Training (ParaEducator) - MDE Approved
Thank you for your interest in the Paraeducator Online Training through The Master Teacher program.
This program has been approved by the Minnesota Department of Education as an option for your paraeducators to receive the Title I Certification. Users of the program will have access to over 150 courses that include 13 prep courses, 2 practice exams, and the 2 actual exams for the Title I Certification. The program, through its partnership with INDIGO Education, costs $75.00 per paraeducator who needs access to the content.
There will need to be an onsite administrator that helps monitor and proctor the assessments. This person will be identified once the school/participant registers.
The Assessment 1: Reading, Writing, and Math – Instructional Support test is 30 questions long and separated into 3 sections. The minimum passing score is 65%. The Assessment 2: Reading, Writing, and Math – Knowledge and Application is 75 questions long and separated into 7 sections. The subscription to the Paraeducator Online Training program is for 1 calendar year. During that time, your staff can take the tests as many times or as frequently as you will allow them. There are no additional fees for taking the tests. The tests can be taken at any location within the district or school as long as there is someone there to proctor the tests to ensure that paras are not using notes, calculators, cell phones, or talking to each other while testing.
Aside from the prep materials and tests, your staff will have access to approximately 150 courses in a wide range of topic areas. These courses can be used for training for your staff members for inclement weather days or planned professional development days. To see a list of the courses, you can go to the website to view the full list with a description of each course.
