Children's Summer Kayaking Course ( 4 x Afternoons July 8/9/10/11 1pm - 4pm)

Course Outline


This course serves as a basic introduction to Kayaking for kids with a key focus on safety and enjoyment.

The course is given by fully qualified adult instructors in the safe and scenic waters in Renville.

This course is Ideal for 10-16 year olds.


Duration

4 Afternoon sessions

July 8th ,9th,10th and 11th 1pm - 4pm


Objective

By the end of this course the participant should have learnt:

  • Basic safety rules of kayaking.
  • Fundamental paddle strokes
  • Basic kayak handling skills 
  • Control a kayak safely in calm conditions.

Previous knowledge or experience

No prior experience or knowledge is required

 

Equipment

Buoyancy aids are provided by GBSC. Wetsuits are available but if sailors have their own wetsuits and boots, that is preferable for their comfort.
