Speakers and discussions on a variety of current environmental issues (energy, storm water, coastal erosion, recycling, etc.)

With all of the depressing news about climate change, we can feel powerless to do anything to help mitigate the effects of rising sea level and temperature. But there ARE things that we, as individuals, can do! This course will present ideas that we can incorporate into our daily lives to do our part to save the planet. It includes talks by experts in various environmental fields such as landscaping with native plants for birds and pollinators, the importance of trees in carbon sequestration , City of New Orleans waste management, the Mirabeau stormwater management project, glass recycling, and other topics. All new speakers this semester! You CAN make a difference!!
