Music Makers at the Keyboard

Pamela DeBoard, PhD, a certified Musikgarten piano teacher, will offer Music Makers at the Keyboard, a curriculum that was created by Musikgarten to enhance small group piano lessons. Children enjoy making music with others their own age and quickly play simple songs that they learn in class. They learn to play by ear and begin to read music. By singing and dancing before each song, they learn to play with pride and enjoy performing with their friends. An end-of-semester performance will take place in December.

The Musikgarten website describes the materials they will receive: To continue the fun at home, you will receive a listening CD with digital code and a practice CD with digital code with special tracks for practice each week. Notation games, repertoire pieces, sight-reading pieces, opportunities for composing, and more are in your child’s comprehensive learning materials that will help him/her stay excited about playing and encourage him/her to make music long after the lessons stop. You’ll both love Musikgarten!
