Course Content and Learning Outcomes
This training will provide delegates with an understanding of fundamental principles of leadership and management with a particular focus on work-based scenarios.
Following the course, the delegate will understand and be able to apply into their work practice:
The concepts of self awareness: Helping participants understand how they think, manage emotions and become aware of personal narratives.
The concepts of self monitoring: Teaching participants how to monitor themselves and apply appropriate interventions to their behaviours.
Interpersonal skills: Enhancing the participant’s awareness of how they engage and interact with those around them.
Engage more effectively with patients: Helping to manage the participants ‘internal world’ so they can listen more deeply to understand their patient’s needs.
Play to team strengths: Helping participants to leverage their skills and expertise and seek support to manage blind spots.
Work collaboratively: Helping participants to understand team dynamics and therefore foster an environment where individuals and teams can debate, discuss, ‘disagree well’, share ideas, solve problems and make decisions.
The course is delivered over two, live interactive online study sessions featuring polling, discussion groups and breakout areas. In addition, registration to our e-learning portal will provide supplementary material. Self-directed learning and a reflective piece of work will be completed within the delegate’s own time and be submitted for assessment.
A follow up 40 minute session with the course lead is included (upon request-date arranged between delegate and course lead). This session will help the participant practice what they have learned, encourage accountability and provide a safe space for reflection and questions.
The course will be conducted online using Zoom Meetings. In addition, supplementary course content will be provided on our e-learning portal.
This course features regular use of live Polling, Chat and Discussion sessions together with self directed learning.
Course access will require a PC/Mac or tablet (iPad or Android). Integral webcam and microphone is preferable although mobile dial in audio is supported (please contact us with any queries)
