Challenging More Able Pupils in English
Partnership Schools - FREE
Non-Partnership Schools - £65 per delegate
The Teachers’ Standards ask that all teachers adapt teaching to meet the needs and strengths of all pupils. On this course we consider how to meet the needs of the most able pupils in the primary English classroom. It considers the provision required for able children to thrive and considers the breadth of the English curriculum including Spoken Language and access to rich, quality texts.
The course is of direct relevance for teachers looking to ensure pupils achieve the Greater Depth descriptors.
This course is suitable for teachers in KS1 and KS2.
Course Outcomes:
• Consider the characteristics of more able pupils
• Explore the provision required to meet the needs of more able pupils
• Equip attendees with practical approaches and ‘take aways’ to support them in meeting the needs of more able pupils.
