Welcome to Persian dance! This beginner-level course is designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of traditional Persian dance in a fun and exciting environment, offering a blend of cultural exploration, rhythmic expression, and choreographed movements. No prior dance experience is required. This course is open to beginners with a curiosity and enthusiasm for exploring the world of Persian dance.

Course Highlights:

1. Basic Technique: Students will learn the fundamental movements and postures that form the foundation of traditional Persian dance. Hand and feet movements are first taught separately, and then combined to create graceful movements. Students will also learn to transition between positions and movements seamlessly.
   
   
2. Rhythmic Awareness: This class will explore the rhythmic intricacies of Persian music and how they influence dance. Students will develop the ability to synchronize movements with various tempos and musical patterns.
   
   
3. Choreography: In this course, students are introduced to traditional Persian dance routines. Each class will focus on a choreographed piece to an Iranian song from start to finish. Students will build a repertoire of beautiful and culturally authentic dances and techniques while also developing a sense of community with fellow participants.
   
   
4. Cultural Context: Students will discover the cultural significance of Persian dance adapted to contemporary Persian music. Choreographed performances will include traditional costumes and accessories. Students will gain an appreciation for the symbolism and cultural nuances reflected in the attire and presentation of this delicate art form.
