About this Course:
Daily life involves shifts in emotional states. When we are feeling distress, certain methods can assist in bring about a greater feeling of calm. EMDR Phase 2 addresses these state change skills at the beginning and throughout treatment.
This presentation will briefly discuss the cognitive, emotional, and physiological factors contributing to dysregulated states. Since one size does not fit all, we will explore various types of tools and resources for achieving greater calm and increasing the capacity to be present. Particular attention will be paid to working with clients who dissociate and have experienced complex developmental trauma.

Prerequisite: Participants will have completed an EMDRIA approved basic training in EMDR Therapy (Part I & II).

About The Presenter
Originally from Pennsylvania, Bill has been a therapist in Orlando, Florida for over thirty years. He is an EMDRIA-Approved EMDR Basic Trainer and Consultant, and an EMDR R-TEP/G-TEP trainer – having provided the Orlando training in response to the Pulse nightclub shooting. Since the onset of war in Ukraine, Bill has been active in supporting Ukrainian therapists by providing G-REP, G-TEP, training and consultation.
Bill’s special interest in complex trauma and dissociation began during his fifteen years as a therapist in an AIDS support agency. Along with Reg Morrow Robinson, he facilitates a Master Class for Complex Trauma.
Philosophically grounded in the humanistic tradition, Bill utilizes EMDR therapy as his primary modality with great attention to attachment injury and early life trauma. In an independent practice setting treating adults, Bill seeks to remove obstacles to growth; allowing clients to live more freely in the present while engendering greater hope for the future.
