Getting to Know MTSS and Continuous Improvement Cycles

Getting to Know MTSS and Continuous Improvement Cycles

OVERVIEW

This four-part (one in-person, three virtual) professional development series is designed to support schools and districts to evaluate their Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and interventions using continuous improvement science. The initial day-long, in-person session will establish a common language and understanding of the MTSS framework, moving from theory to application. Schools will also begin to map their MTSS model. Future sessions are designed to build capacity for evaluating these systems and practices using continuous improvement cycles. Participants will have opportunities to apply new knowledge and practice skills while sharing with colleagues from across MCPSA.

Through engagement in this series, participants will...
  1. be able to identify what is meant by MTSS, and related structure, purpose, and design;
  2. identify key features, interventions and assessment/data at their school/district.
  3. identify areas of their MTSS for evaluation and improvement.
  4. learn and use Continuous Improvement Cycles and cycles of inquiry tools
Intended audience: MTSS leads in Charter Schools, such as administrators/administrative teams, data analysts, school counselors, teachers/intervention specialists, data teams/MTSS teams
